The Kavárna #3

The Kavárna #3

Hi coffee lovers! The third review is here, let's take a look at my thoughts about this one: The Kavárna 🖤

When I came here the first time about 4 months ago, I wasn't that excited about this café. Maybe it was because it was winter. Everything looks better when the sun comes out and you can finally see through the windows on the shiny streets. Back then, I also thought that this café is so dark and uncomfortable. But I changed my mind about this and also about more than just this. You can check their instagram here.

Location: ☕️ ☕️ ☕️ ☕️

The location of this café is pretty good. The tram station is nearby and so is the main street. You can actually see the station or the main street from the windows of this café. Lots of people are walking by so this café doesn't even need big advertising like the Café Silesia could for example. And there is a hostel nearby and lots of tourists can come here for a breakfast. So this is not really a hidden place and I think that that's definitely a positive thing for cafés like this one.

Comfinnes: ☕️ ☕️ ☕️

Oh well, when I came here 4 months ago I don't even like it here. I thought that this was such a small and dark place but I was obviously wrong. When I walked inside this time, in the beginning of May, I felt totally different. This place is really cool. They have lots of pictures on the walls, a chalk board with their offer (which I like the most) and a cute and comfy bar. In the back of the café, there is place just for yourself with a little sofa and chairs in a comfy corner. And this is the kind of place I love the most. The place where you can feel like home. I don't know why, but this café reminded me F.R.I.E.N.D.S. 😂🤷🏻‍♀️ Even though it's much less busy of course. You can also sit outside where you can observe everything that's going on in the streets. The only downside here is little room and lots of (small) tables. The tables here are so close together that you can actually hear what the people next to you talking about (without trying). The only private place is in the back on the sofa with a bunch of friends. 🙈

Service: ☕️ ☕️

I've been here 2 or 3 times altogether, but I am walking by quite often. And I never saw the same waitress more than once 🤷🏻‍♀️ And so did my (coffee lover) friends. I don't know what to make out of it but changing your staff very often isn't a good way to build up the cafés name and reputation (this café has been here for just about 2 years). And even now were here alone, and the service didn't come to check on us 🤷🏻‍♀️ Maybe they employ waitresses that just don't care that much.

Price range: 💸

This café is more expensive than Café Silesia from last week. For a cappuccino you will pay approx. 2.60$ (2.15€). I would categorize it as a middle price range. It's not that expensive and also not that cheap. But it's still cheaper than Sweet & Pepper DAYS. But for Prague 2 this is still okay! 🙉

Taste of coffee: ☕️

Oh boy, I am a little bit sad because this will have to be the first bad review I have to do. Their coffee really was not good. I had an iced latté and it was practically just a glass of milk with ice. Matěj had a Moccacino and the cocoa their supposed to add to the coffee definitely wasn't pure cocoa, it was definitely mixed with sugar. An on top of that it was almost as cold as my ice coffee! I thought that it would be nice to try out their coffee and not just a glass of milk so I ordered an Espresso also, and this one was really bad. A bitter smell, a sour taste (and not in a good way), so sour in fact that I had to dilute it to even drink it. A really strong taste with a cinnamon aftertaste. I wasn't excited by this experience at all. I could come for some alternative forms of coffee, if it gets better, but probably not. 😔

Overall experience: ☕️ ☕️

I am not excited at all from this visit. I was in the beginning because this place looked very nice. But once you tasted lots of good coffee in you life, you will probably not want to visit this café anymore. Before I was working at a café myself, I thought that coffee everywhere is the same. But the opposite is true. 🤷🏻‍♀️

This is not such a happy ending of this review guys, but I couldn't be a blogger or a café reviewer if I didn't tell you the truth! I wasn't happy at all, so this is my way to express it.

I hope you are all doing well and drinking a great cup of coffee now! ☕️ Until next time!

With love,                                                                                                                               Absolutely Anna ☕️
